Chiara's Passion For Fashion Started Early
Chiara Biddle graduated from Ball State Honors College
Chiara Biddle recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from Ball State University Honors College in Indiana.
Chiara has always wanted to be a designer.
Starting Young
When Chiara was 2 or 3 years old, she started picking her own outfits. She remembers being obsessed with it.
She grew up watching the TV show Project Runway with her mom.
She would pick outfits for her entire family, including her older sisters, who are Chemistry majors.
When she would go out with her mom, even to the grocery store, Chiara would wear knee high boots with flowers matching the flowers on her tank top. People would ask her mom if she had dressed her up that way, and her mom would reply, “No, it’s all her. She just does it!”
As she grew up, she was the stylist for her friends, go through their closets and take them shopping.
She would call herself the Pink Sheep of the family!
In College
In college, she was able to inject fashion projects into the experience:
For example, for a 1960s Counter Culture class, she did a mini Fashion Magazine that was a guide to the counter culture.
Her Undergraduate research allowed her to explore how dressing habits, eating habits and stress come together.
You can catch more examples on Chiara’s Podcast.
Post Graduation
Chiara was a Buying Intern at the Burlington Stores corporate office in New Jersey and New York City after her Junior year.
On completion of her internship they offered her a job at their stores in NYC as an Assistant Buyer.
